Tell me all about it, dear...

I actually BOUGHT the chain, as I use reading glasses for , well, reading, nothing else, excpet maybe threading needles, and it didn't wotk for me. I was constantly setting the glasses down, moving to another oom, having to go back and find them, so i thought it would be handing. But, they were always getting in the way, hanging down if I bent or leaned over. Sliding back and forth, getting in the way. So, my solution, I now own 4 pairs of reading glasses. One in my purse, one at my desk one at the kitchen table, one on my nightstand. My work pair are the sturdy type I can pick up and slide on my face one handed while answering the phone, looking for a pen etc. and because they are sturdy, they also make a handy headband and sit there until I need them again. problem solved.

I'm sure you would make the eyeglass chain a fashion accessory but would they get caught up in the festive scarf or pashina you wear? Whatever the case, I did enjoy your blog about this problem. I know the feeling of not being able to SEE the glasses when they are not in place on your nose...I almost wish they had a homing device so they could be paged...

I can so relate. The jowls and nasolabial/mouth lines make me look like a puppet. Sigh.

Well honey, I think you do yourself down. You are a fine looking woman - not a girl, those days are gone - a woman of a certain age, a very good age. I promise you, you will get used to the jowls - there's no other option beyond shrinking away and that's not really an option is it? Onward in wrinkly, short-sighted fabulousness! They'll all wish they looked like us, you know. Love always xxx

Why not find a cheap chain somewhere and give it a try? Or go to a store and try a nice one on? Sometimes, if you simply LIKE something well enough, it's worth the impracticalities. Besides, it might not look as bad as you think.

I am now so jealous of my daughter becasue she had Lasik surgery and doesn't have to do the one -hand search for the glasses in the morning! Get the baubles-on-a-chain thingee and to hell with what anyone thinks!

Sparkle is always in style, even when used to distract from jowls ;)
