Tell me all about it, dear...

I'm so sorry to hear it. That is a super scary word, and the timing is terrible. You're handling exactly right, though. Hang in there. It'll be ok.

No, it isn't fair, and oh dear lord do I recognize that inner voice. I will keep you and Mick in my thoughts, love.

Eh if you have to get cancer basal cell carcinoma is your very first choice. It is a humble home loving carcinoma and not one of those evil travel the body types that will find someother homestead that might kill you. When I had my basal cell carcinoma removed, I went to the beach 3 days later. So my stitches were removed at the Jersey shore though I should have kept them a day or two longer - I've got a wicked scar. Oh and I now get a yearly "spot check" but really, that's it. Hugs dear but thank the powers that be because if you have to encounter cancer this one has the best possible outcome.

Hugs all around. I know that cold finger of dread is worrying, but be assured that of all of the skin cancers, this is one to have. My momma had bunches of them taken off, and she made it to 98!

You know that I know better than many how even the word 'cancer' can seriously fuck up your life, if you let it. You have my bestest ((hugs)) and a "my dad had a coupla them suckers taken off. He's 72 now and never looked back" to go with it, cos its true. Thinking good thoughts for you both. s x

Hugs first and foremost but I have to echo others here. My Grandmother started having these removed every so often around 66 or so and made it to 93. My Dad (75) has had half a dozen sliced off with nary a hiccup in his routine. Mick will be fine. You will both be on the other side of this soon enough. Still extra hugs never hurt.

Ahhhhh.....all of us Irish folk get used to the waiting game after the biopsy. It sucks, but it's part of our heritage. My mom just had a huge sucker taken off of her face. She had to go back to get "clean edges".....and now she's fine. Mick will be fine!

I'm SO with you, when it comes to men removing back or chest hair or ANYONE removing pubic hair. It's not attractive. I've also spied chest-stubble on some men. How do their women tolerate or avoid getting all scratched up? I also don't like shaped eyebrows on men. I agree with getting rid of the uni-brow and trimming extra long hairs, but not female looking brows on a guy.

Seconding you on the "get in bike rides" thing. You are talking at least 2 weeks of no sweat because of risk of infection then how long after that depends on where it is and what you are doing. That said I was at the gym in a sling 3 weeks after my shoulder surgery! Hope it all goes smoothly and as everyone said this is the least nasty to get! Hugs Bels

I FUREAKED when a tiny spot on the bottom of my husband's tongue was malignant in 2008. Got it cut out and all is well. He also is a redhead who went bald due to family genes at age 17. He is always having stuff burned off his head and 2 years ago the doc gave him some chemo cream that literally burns off the top epidermis, allowing fresh clean skin cells to form. I of course raced off to google and people were saying it was an agonizing treatment. Well, little Mr. Wuss finally did it a year ago and do you know it turned out to be nothing? And he is big old baby able pain. A bit of itching and some dryness, nothing to it. So if Mick gets prescribed some of that stuff give me a holla and if he is interested in how it was Roger will be happy to tell him about his experiences.
