Tell me all about it, dear...

I know you get very *insert appropriate word here* at people who think this is just a cute phase.... I do believe you could write a handbook on helping an Aspie learn to get along (if they want to)...or at the very least help a parent or spouse or relative learn to live with this.

Your description reminds me so much of my father.

Thanks for the astute and detailed description. There is a three year old in my class whom I've known for years, who is exactly like that, but his parents are in complete denial. I finally got a therapist in to observe, hopefully she can find a way to enlighten this child's parents. It's not easy for them to accept. Many blessings to you and your family.

When I read the book that was written by a guy who used to substitute teach in our building, it really hit home for me about how Aspies have absolutely no compassion. I ran into him recently, and found it interesting that he is currently very active in promoting his anti-bullying campaign. I've been wondering why someone who admits that he lacks compassion would feel so passionate about something that hurts others. Perhaps it has more to do with the fact that he himself suffered terribly at the hands of bullies... Or it could be that he is getting the attention he admittedly craves...

And you are?
