Tell me all about it, dear...

The dreaded Eye Roll! God, I hated that. Thank goodness the teens I work with don't do that to me!

Yep....right on schedule! I guess you can be thankful that he is turning into a typical teen....I remember when my son developed the sneer....so unattractive...right up there with the greasy hair plastered down on his acne-ridden forehead.... But they grow up and hopefully he will become the son you adore once again!

LOL, we just had an eye roll incident yesterday, only it wasn't directed at me. My almost graduated (tonight!) 18yr old with suddenly no curfew has gotten quite blase about hiding his opinions when Mom or Dad ventures to say maybe he should do this, no not do that. Yesterday my DH finally said, "You know, that's the 5th time you've rolled your eyes at me in the last hour and if you do it one more time..." I don't remember what the consequence was, you have to be careful when they are feeling so full of themselves. My older son took us at our word when we said "Abide by the house rules or.." and he moved out , at 18, never to return. Not that we don't all get along grandly now, and did shortly after that dark day, but it was rough, and I am not likely to make such warnings myself again. DH finished with a simple "Show some respect!"

I don't know what the hell that kid was singing, but something tells me he wasn't saying what I heard from my 21 year old son today when I asked him why his student loan paymnets were in arrears.

Oh I remember those days... they do eventually grow out of it, and turn into a new, improved kid. Hang on, it's a wild ride.

Me and my son are probably both lucky that I am going through menopause while he is of a more tender age, Ok, well sometimes I think the toddler years and all they bring in rebellion might not be the best time either but at least I get lots and lots of hugs between bouts of shouting, crossed arms and timeouts. I should be a dottering old fool by the time he is into puberty, so maybe I won't notice it all that much.

And you are?
