Tell me all about it, dear...

You serve. You matter. You rock. Totally.

I see so much of myself in this entry it makes me feel a bit weak in the knees. But we DO matter - to those who love us, and to each other. There is that.

I always hated hearing the words, "Rosie is not living up to her potential." My potential. Maybe I AM living up to what I was supposed to do, who knows? For all of the reincarnated folks who want to be Queen Elizabeth or Cleopatra or Caesar, there were millions of "little people" who went on and lived their lives as best as they could. There is nothing that says everyone has to have fame and fortune, and honestly, I'd rather just be happy.

If you can look yourself in the mirror and like what you see, if you have been kind to others, and have resolved nasty karma in good ways, then what else should a person want?

Besides, always remember Grandma Moses. We could just be late bloomers!

You do matter, LA. You don't know it, but your words have helped me many times.

Remember that Sunday School song?..."this little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine"? That's who you are to me...a shining star. You may not believe that you are a big constellation of magnificence but to me, you are very special even though I have never met you in real life. I admire how you make do with what you have and create a home for your son and for Mick. You DO matter...a lot.

You are fabulous and you do matter. You have made a difference in my life as in many others, but the difference you have made in your own life matters just as much. (Also, think about it: if you look at the two of us and measure success on a conventional scale, I probably have more of it. But if you look at who's had a more durable influence on the world, it's you, hands down. Kids and writing are two lasting influences.)

"...simply the result of strength of character, and I'm afraid I'm a bit deficient in that..." I call bullshit. For you to have taken the beatings you have, and NOT passed them on to your children, NOT write a blog filled with 'woe is whiney me', NOT decided you were entitled to good things because you were shit on for so long, shows a tremendous amount of character strength. Don't sell yourself short honey ;)

And you are?
