Tell me all about it, dear...

were you named after Elvis Presley's daughter? Because I almost was, they were gonna name me Lisa Dawn... not exactly my fave person in the world, ol' Lisa Marie, always looks like she's bored with all that life has to offer or like she's sucking on a lemon.. I love the name you chose for yourself. Me, I got stamped with Dawn, it's not fitting, doesn't resonate within, just sorta falls with a plunk...but I've never met a Dawn that the name fit, I dont' think it was meant to be a name...

Based on various clues you've left over the years, I had deduced that that was probably your first name. The whole generational name thing got me, too (I actually call it a fad-name). Names are also regional, though, and I didn't any other Amy's until I moved to the midwest; where there were thousands. That was another reason for me to hate it there. My name has aged out, and I'm taking all of the Stacy's, Tiffany's and Stephanie's with me.

I am a Lisa too. Born in 1964. And my middle initial is A....hmmmm.. There were always two or three other Lisa's on my classes growing up.

I have been the one and only Alison almost everywhere I have been. My name has been misspelled most of the time and no nickname has ever stuck. My mother insists my name was lifted straight from the Bible and not Peyton Place. The spelling does support her story. I must admit, you don't seem like a Lisa to me, and I have known my fair share, seeing as we are of the same generation you and I. I much prefer LA, it is a good, strong moniker well suited to such a powerful wordsmith.

There was a F-cKloAd of Janet/Jeanettes also in that generation. One was me. That name died in that generation too. I remember the role call in 9th grade science class had like 4. One of my best friend in grade 6 to 8 was a Lisa. A hunchback genius with the first Liberal parents I ever met in R County back then, Lisa has influenced me to this day.

Made me think of this country song... I'm not Lisa, my name is Julie Lisa left you years ago My eyes are not blue But mine won't leave you 'Til the sunlight has touched your face. Loved the description of all the ladies in line. Also loved the dance from SNF...one of my favorite movies for the Bee Gee music and the dancing.
