The absurdity of the funeral home arrangements made us roar with laughter after both my pop and mom's deaths. And we all also cracked up at the funeral mass for my mom when the priest said, "I knew Anna very well, and she never had a harsh word for anyone." HAH! It was all my sibs and I could do not to laugh out loud at that! Seriously, though, sweetheart, I hold you all close to my heart.

Brings back many memories of funerals of the past. My husband choose to pass when I was in the same room, writing out a request for a handicap sticker for his truck. Didn't make it easier but it was a relief that he simply slipped away. And laughter at a funeral is probably more normal than we know. My sisters and I plotted out a book idea in the hearse going to her burial....and I wrote that book 3 years ago. I'm sorry for the loss but I'm glad it has brought you all together in a wonderful way....

Having been there with my Father's funeral and arrangements, I can relate. Although his was a bit more to do since it was a full out Catholic funeral (mostly since he was a convert for my Mom's sake). With Mike we just scattered his ashes off the bridge of his favorite park and then had a BBQ with his friends and him mom and sister (his dad had passed years before). Laughter is normal during situation like that, it's a means of coping. It's also a great way to remember the good times and good things. My condolences to all of you on your loss.
