Try as I might and I really did try when I was working in the school library so I could make recommendations to students), I just can't read YA Lit. The Season 3 tragedy on Downton Abbey came about because the actor left the role. Last week's episode of True Blood is a different story. Damn them. Are you watching the "Under the Dome" TV series? I wasn't crazy about the book, but at least it wasn't boring. The same can't be said of the television program. I'm reading Amy Tan's SAVING FISH FROM DROWNING. Love her, and don't know how this book slipped by me until now. (I found it in the closet where I keep my mountain of books to read.) It's great to read something other than my textbook for a change.

Loved all the book "reviews". I used to love Stephen King but got away from his writing some time ago. Right now, scary stuff isn't my choice. His books are on my "some day in the future" list. Never did care much for YA lit. although I have accidentally checked out a few that were good. I do love Amy Tan so will have to check on that book title mentioned in a comment. All that food sounds so delicious....I've never gotten into it as my husband doesn't like much of anything and now I am grateful if he eats at all. How nice for MIL that you made her some good treats to enjoy.
