Tell me all about it, dear...

Today, I told the MRI tech who blew my vein out that it was okay; I had another arm with more veins available for poking. Then I laughed at a joke he made, and we both felt more at ease about the whole thing. As for the "truth tellers" - if hell exists, it has a special place just for them.

Dear god, woman, it is ALWAYS about you!! I bought bread, I found good drinks, I'm cooking meat... I had to stop reading about halfway through this borefest, seriously, you may be polite, but god you love to yammer on about how great you are. Major sign of insecurity right there, no surprise I know!

Apparently Alex is one of those who love to poke holes in your clouds of happiness. Today I thanked the cashier for making sure my bags of groceries were not too heavy for me to put into my car. I let some shoppers go first, I smiled at a little girl who was talking non-stop to her mother and didn't let someone else's griping make me upset.... And I think it is wonderful that you found special food treats for your Mick...I am happy too when I can make my husband smile with a special treat.

"Jerks who refuse to merge when the lane is closed ahead and instead race up to the top of the closing lane" -- Oh, you have just described so many Rhode Island drivers: a significant number of them do not grasp the concept of "alternate merge." There is no major cost in letting someone out of a driveway or letting someone else move ahead of you in a crowded supermarket aisle or smiling at a cashier and saying "thank you," etc. It makes the day more pleasant. I know that I always feel better if I go about town with that kind of attitude. (By the way, Alex must have been lost on the web -- he wandered into a personal journal website expecting discussions about engineering or something like that. There is a much faster solution to that problem -- instead of taking the time to write a foolish complaint, just go to a different website. I have heard that there are lots of websites these days.)

Actually, it's best to merge late. Google 'late merge' or 'zipper merge'. http://trafficwaves.org/seatraf.html

I do complain when so etching goes wrong - so I try hard to comment when things go right as well, for balance. And also, it is nice to see you being appreciated for the things you do. :-)
