Tell me all about it, dear...

Our Greek festival is next weekend. Leigh is disappointed that she won't be here for it. (Looks like she's heading back to PEI today.) I sometimes put yarn in ziploc bags, too, especially when I'm using two strands. Otherwise I end up with a tangled mess. Also, when I can't find the center "pull" piece of yarn, I wind the skein into a ball, which I find easier to handle. And oh, how I wish life came with endless opportunities to get it right. I've really made a mess of the one I have.

<-----Jealous. There is no Greek festival that I am aware of around my podunkish town. I could drive to Michigan's "the city" but since we don't know our way around and it is more like driving around the Bronx than Manhattan I have to settle for the one Greek restaurant next town over. Not great but they have souvlaki and gyro, any port you know. I was appalled to hear that NY did away with the general diploma in favor of requiring Regents all around. Either they have watered down the regents requirement or they may be asking too much of some folks. If I recall correctly the Regents classes and tests were difficult for me and I am smarter than the average bear (not ego just fact). I had friends who barely graduated with a general diploma and it really was the best they could do. I'm sure Wolf will do well, wish him luck from me though. Violets are lovely this time of year :). Oh, and I am also jealous of the knitting, I found really soft fine yarn and fancied I would knit comfy socks, two inches in to the top I am completely demoralized, I might finish by the time I die but I doubt it.

When we lived in Binghamton we used to hit the annual festival at Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation (Vestal, NY) -- Oh what wonderful food! Spanakopita! Souvlaki! Baklava!

Greek Festival here too....Yesterday and today's weather ~ fairly good...tomorrow they may be rained out. Brings back memories of the men in my office who used to come back from the festival( lunch on Friday) so drunk; they could hardly speak and then they all wanted to dictate letters....LOL. good luck to Wolf on his Regents...I'm sure he will do very well.

Huge Greek festival here too. I OD'd on baklava one year and haven't been able to eat it since. Dang! Nasty issue!
