Tell me all about it, dear...

I LOVE Wierd Al (just kidding, Weird). His show was my first concert, too. Also, now it makes total sense why Alex worked as a DJ in college.

My first concert was The Carpenters!

Eeee! Weird Al is a longtime love of mine as well. Oh, and on the spelling front? What is up with the recent trend toward folks' writing that they are "defiantly" going to do something, instead of "definitely"? I keep having images of them walking around with their chins jutting out, permanent challenging glints in their eyes, etc.

It was 1981, and I was just legal. KGB FM Radio was having these great morning broadcasts, which they called "The Breakfast Club". As I recall, it went from about 6am to 10 am. Kamikaze shots for $1.00, free doughnuts, and live music...get this...featuring a barely known artist called "Weird Al" Yankovic.

I remember that I left there pretty sauced, and I got pulled over for speeding, (back in the days of 55mph) and the only reason that the cop didn't pull me for drinking and driving was because he had no idea that people would even be drinking at 10 am!

So, I don't have to hide my Neil Diamond CDs anymore? ;-) And just because I have him on CD does NOT mean that I don't know what a tone arm is, or *gasp* what a 45 is. My Dad actually got us listening to Weird Al because he (my Dad) was a fan of Frankie Yankovic (accordion music), and being a family of nerds, we were immediately hooked on Weird Al. What can I say?

Oh, LA, I know (and can sing) every song you listed. After all, I was a teenager when those fifties songs were hits.

And you are?
