Tell me all about it, dear...

I think you have it exactly right. Life is not perfect in pretty town. Wolf is so lucky to have a mother that understands and can give him the guidance that he needs.

I'm sure you will find the perfect time and the best way to start the discussions about this with Wolf. He is a lucky young man to have you so in tune with his needs.

The whole thing with the teenager and the world at large is so freaky sometimes. All we can do is arm them with self respect and some basics and let go gently. Wolf is a knock out and will do fine thanks to a mom who really cares and will take the time he needs

I remember when my oldest son was in 3rd grade, I went up to the school to discuss his terrible grades. The teacher told me, "He's just so cute, I have a hard time yelling at him when he's talking in class". I said to her, "Well, if he was Donnie the Dog Faced boy, do you think he might get a better education? She was as unhappy with my response as I was with her attitude. He is still a very handsome man - which has not kept him from having an addiction to percocet, a shitty self image, an unhappy marriage, a lousy credit rating and getting evicted from his home for not paying rent for three months. Ouch, where the hell did that come from?

Look at it this way: Wolf being fourteen and having to deal with someone who looks at him sexually for the FIRST time is already a sign that you're doing far better by your son that you were done by. At least he's gotten to puberty, where it actually makes sense to him.

I will never forget what Daniel said after meeting Wolf: "He's a really beautiful child, isn't he?" Yes. He certainly is. And charm? He turned me into a puddle that time we were at the beach and he came over and put his arms around my waist (as Mick had just done to you). Irresistible. (And you know I don't mean that in a creepy bread lady sort of way!)
