I used to unscrew caps with abandon and do other various such things, but then I started seeing younger people doing worse. It's not as bad now, but a few years ago, it seemed to be a fad to eat and drink food while shopping and have them scan the empty packages at the checkout. I couldn't get over how rude and tacky it seemed for people to stuff themselves while shopping. So, I stopped opening containers that could easily be closed back up, like new, because I wanted to set an example of respecting the packaging of things that I don't own, yet. That sounds pretty crazy, perhaps that's exactly what you're talking about; limiting oneself in order to set a good example. As if anyone is watching.

I love the idea of Lucy and Ethel at the WalMart store. Yay for MIL following your lead.

Well, I'm sorry, but if you'd left crutches or anything else behind my till without my permission it would have been thrown into out into the street. You really do think the world revolves around you, don't cha? Bullies make me sick, no matter who they are and what reasons lie behind their actions.

I am laughing at the thought of MIL hunched over the bottle of fabric softener, sneaking a sniff. She's so cute!

Lead and they will follow. Build it and they will come. Make eggplant parm and I will visit all the way from San Diego.

Another person (Toby) who can't say anything of value so he resorts to being negative.

She should not have left anything in a store without permission, that is a fact, and you know it.
