Tell me all about it, dear...

Reminds me of our new uniform policy. Every student has to wear a uniform (and I use that term loosely - it's just certain colored pants/shirts/skirts) unless their parent/custodian fills out a form and personally meets with the principal. This will apply to at least half of the students who are claiming that the "uniforms" are too expensive. Last time I checked, a pair of khakis from k-mart were WAY cheaper than the designer jeans the majority of the kids are wearing. I'm not really a fan of the uniform thing, but I think a "policy" should apply to everyone or to no one at all. And don't get me started on what a monumental waste of the principal's time it will be for him to have to meet with all of those parents/guardians! Fume.

I remember all those forms, I filled out the same ones every year with the same information every year. Waste of paper and time. Gotta give those school secretaries something to do!

School won't be able to use the old "lost in the mail" excuse when they can't find the information you hand delivered to them this year though. Friend of mine said her school is now paperless and wants all the students (including 1st graders) to do math and reading testing online! How this works with one computer per classroom hasn't been figured out...and the tests are every week. What happened to common sense?

Been there. Done the kids stuff while working (never really DIDN'T work, from the time I was around 14-15.) Same mentality tends to apply to job, if it makes you feel any better. Gotta do this in triplicate and it's due at such-and-such but must be delivered in person to this remote location. Gah!

And you are?
