Tell me all about it, dear...

I'm sure you are right about why you can mourn so deeply over something in which you didn't have direct personal loss. It's so much harder to let the real pain in over someone you loved or lost..... But either way, what hurts really hurts!

There are no rules or definitions about what is or is not to be. It just....is. We all navigate these waters differently. But we all sail through.

I read that Stephen King book, but don't remember the 9/11 story...This is going to drive me crazy!

You summed things up very well. I suspect that's also why it can be easier for some of us to find dear friends online than next door. The friends online have a tendency to slip beneath those defenses. But careful; you could end up like me and fall deeply in love with your husband. I hope your feet are better soon. That has to be miserable!

Wow. First of all...Owww. Feet are all but forgotten until they hurt like they have been hammered into raw meat ( I suffer from Neuropathy of the feet - like bees CONSTANTLY stinging them when other than when they aren't numb) and I wish you baby soft lambs wool and a lidocaine foot bath that soothes and gives your poor feet little gentle kisses. Seriously: Foot pain SUCKS badly. Second: 9/11, one of the most fucked up things I have ever witnessed, albeit from the safe comfort of my home in Phoenix, and my desk at work as I watched on my little portable television. My God. I still think that Bush and Cheney had a filthy hand in the entire thing after years of personal study and eye witness testimony that there were explosions heard from each floor as those buildings came down in A CONTROLLED demolision fashion. And building #7? Heard on the police monitors to 'PULL' the building, AKA, bring it down? Once again in a perfectly controlled demolishion fashion. One building coming down that way, MAYBE. But all three? Smells worse than 4 day old thawed chicken left sitting in the sun all week. All in all pure unadulterated fuckery. I know you have mentioned names of folks that you knew in those buildings that came down, and for that I am so sorry hon. Bottom line here is Karma is a bitch with a Lonnng memory who takes down names and always comes collecting when least expected. I wish you well on your feet dear and hope that you heal up quickly and with as little pain as possible. You have suffered enough pain in your life. Hell, we all have damnit. Sending you only my very best positive vibes that I save for those that I trust and care about. - John in Tucson
