Tell me all about it, dear...

Hello Luv ! Summer has arrived here in Southern Arizona and it's over 100 degrees today. Bleh on that noise...It's so nice to stop in to your blog daily to get my La fix and to read all of your wonderful descriptions of life in your neck of the country. One of these days by God I'm going to get over to the east coast and make a point of meeting you and the other fine bloggers that you have befriended. I've spoken to Jen of TranceJen a few times on the phone and it's a real treat to finally 'hear' the voice of the person who's words have only been voiced in my mind. I hope you and your kinfolk have an amazing weekend dear. Be well ! - John in Tucson ([email protected])

Wolf should be grateful, I still sometimes call my youngest "baby butt". And Meg is sometimes still "Meggity Cakes", or, far more heinous, "Meg-a-butt".

So take heart, you aren't the only one who uses such a-dork-able terms of endearment.

*Waves at John in Tucson* come down to Tombstone, it's about 10 degrees cooler here!

Mothers bleed so much it's a wonder we don't have to walk around with portable transfusion units...

Jim - 2011-06-05 12:26:38
I can remember getting to junior high and the chance to be tell all the new kids I would be meeting that my name was Jim -- kids in my small grade school (one class at each grade level) knew me as James because that was what the teachers always called me. When I had started school at age five, it hadn't occurred to me that I could correct them -- and by the time I thought of that, it was too late, the pattern had been established. James is my legal name, but my family always called me Jim and I always thought of myself as Jim. (My business cards have always had Jim, not James.) So I understand where Wolf is coming from and three cheers to you for being sensitive enough to go along with him.

I always wanted a nickname too but I didn't like "Ter"....One of my bosses affectionally called me "Terrible" which always made me laugh but I digress. We solved the bashing of mailboxes....Got a huge mailbox and filled it with a smaller one surrounded by cement....when they tried to bash it....they got hurt...Checked with the mailperson who said it was a great idea... We don't live there anymore but the mailbox is still there after 20 years!
