Tell me all about it, dear...

Sounds like your day is ending up much better than it began. I agree with you re: the royal wedding. Who doesn't want to see a fairytale for a day play out in full color and ceremony. I hope they have lots of beautiful children and a long and lovely life together.

I didn't get a chance to watch the wedding this morning, I had to get to work. I've looked at photos, but I'm saving all the video for tonight. I had no idea that Camilla picked out that dress! That explains so much. Poor Diana. May she rest in peace.

I woke up insanely early (not by choice) and watched the wedding live. I agree; that dress was fabulous! Very Grace Kelly. The lace was lovely and the train just the right length.

I watched a good part of the wedding (including the balcony kiss) live, and enjoyed every minute of it. Loved the dress. My favorite moment was when Harry was standing at the altar with William, and couldn't resist taking a peek at the bride walking down the aisle. So cute!

My ma and pa got married in 1959 and the dress my ma wore was pretty much a DEAD RINGER for Kate's frock! I dont have too much of a problem with two pleasant young people getting married, but I did feel kind of sorry for them - it cant be nice to have your big day hijacked quite so spectacularly, I do wonder if Kate actually managed to have a say in anything much (or if she even knew 10% of those people in the Abbey). Shame. Im kind of chuffed that so many of my overseas friends saw it and enjoyed it - we do do a good royal wedding, us English! s x

Ooh, I don't think that's right about Camilla and the dress, surely? At the time we all thought it was beeeyoootiful. It was the beginning of the 80s - that's what we liked back then and though it does look a bit mental now, so does everything else from the 80s. The designer (whose name escapes me) was all over the place - I can't believe the Camilla bit, though what do I know - I'm a socialist, not a royalist. I did watch the wedding today, for much the same reasons as you, but I shall also be closely examining the papers tomorrow - talk about a good day to bury bad news xxx

I said the same thing to some FB friends today about the state of modern day wedding dresses. All those gawdy boob showing La Vegas showgirl horrors they are selling. I can't imagine wearing one into the Catholic church we got married in at a full mass service, seriously? some of them look like undergarments with long skirts and are almost see through bodices. Really you want everyone to see the goods at your wedding? Wait for the wedding night for the show, I say. At least it looked like Kate and William actually ENJOYED their wedding ,even the serious ceremony part. He was stifling a chuckle when she had to repeat all his (Williams) many names. And as down to earth as she is, she still knew to lower her eyes each time he saluted a military person or group. Fun AND able to adapt to the monarchy. She will do fine.

err, you are totally wrong re Diana's dress. It was chosen by 'Kanga' Tryon, a friend of Diana's. Still waiting for your Oprah appearance by the way! haha!
