Tell me all about it, dear...

Personally I like the sound of Lasagne, it is something we rarely have so it would be a treat, make a Simnel cake, gussy up the house and have fun! (oh and make sure you have Easter eggs - got to have Easter eggs!)

We're doing Seder at the in-laws' house which is going to be weird but I hope nice. We'll be at our house for Easter; I asked the in-laws if they wanted us to have an Easter dinner (because I am all about piling on the holidays), but they said they don't really do much for it. The problem is that they work so hard to be nice and easy to deal with that I can't quite figure out if they don't care or just don't want to make work. I think what we are going to do is to roast a turkey (because Ted loves turkey, we don't get it often here, everyone can eat it and it's not a bad way to feed six people) and then people can call it Easter dinner or not, as they want. (No chocolate eggs, though: too many people can't or won't eat them.)

Dichroic, feel free to send me all your unwanted chocolate!! Please!~ Heh. LA, tradition is an important thing for kids.. I did the best I could to show them what a real family does on the holidays, even though the ex really didn't participate much. Kid is big on it, Dude, not so much. I'm hoping he will find a girlfriend who will be kind to him when it comes to the holiday traditions...

I grew up with lasagna and other pasta creations as the centerpiece of every holiday. Of course I'm part italian, but whatever, it's still the part I most look forward to. Happy happy! XO, D

I agree with you. There are times when a fuss should be made and a special effort. Our society has gotten so laid back that you see sweats at funerals now. I'm all about comfort but it is nice to have a special dinner a couple of times a year. Carry on!

Sometimes the very idea that you are "off the traditional path" becomes a tradition in and of itself.

And you are?
