Tell me all about it, dear...

Not to mention choosing to go out as Joe Hill rather than Joe King - it may be an open secret who he is, but it still means he doesn't get the benefit of the King name with random bookstore browsers. And he wasn't the one who first said who he was, apparently. Also, I checked: apparently he was named Joseph Hillstrom on purpose, and chose to go by Joe Hill on purpose, in both cases as a reference to *the* Joe Hill. So kudos to both parents and son for that one. I do appreciate people who can get rich and not adopt an 'I got mine' attitude.

I think his mother -- Tabitha King -- is also a damned good writer. Okay, her first three novels were in the paperback thriller genre, but her Knodd's Ridge trilogy novels (Pearl, Book of Reuben, and One on One) are marvelous... and Survivor, her other novel about small town Maine life, was another good read. Nancy and I would love it if she were to write another novel. Her most recent book is Candles Burning is her completion of Michael McDowell's book, left uncompleted at his death. Nancy has read it and didn't care for it (not caring for southern gothic novels) and I've not had time to get to it yet.
