Tell me all about it, dear...

I'm really impressed that you haven't smoked since Friday. I wish that nasty virus would leave you alone, already. I hope you have an easy trip to the doctor.

About not smoking: after a few years you hardly miss it at all. Hope the flue flees quickly.

Most computers don't come with Microsoft Word unless you pay extra (around $150). There is a free program that is very similar. The tech guys at work told me about it. It can be downloaded at http://www.openoffice.org/

Stephanie is right. They don't come with the programs - or they come with starter programs that run out after a month. Tricky that way. Glad you haven't smoked since Friday. But I understand the challenges. I am the only one in my family who doesn't smoke, so I have seen it all from many different perspectives. Rough going.

One of the reasons I love Firefox is because of the add-on "foxmarks". Foxmarks remembers your bookmarks, passwords and browser settings no matter what computer you may be using. It's awesome!

Pleeeeze feel better already!!! My fingers will be crossed that the doctor is generous with the medicine and that you're on the mend soon. Very impressive about the smoking, by the way, when I smoked I couldn't quit for pneumonia or nothing. Way to be tougher than the cigs (which I never was). XOXO, Get well, K.

if the laptop does have Office on it, and you just can't find it, the easiest thing to do is go to Start, then click Run and type WINWORD in the little box that comes up and click OK. otherwise, openoffice is a perfectly acceptable substitute and free, like stephanie said.

It's been a while - hope the doc was able to help and you're on the mend.
