Tell me all about it, dear...

Though you wouldnt know it to look at me today (never make gravy whilst wearing white jeans. 'Possibly Just Shat Herself' is never a good look) I revel in my overdressedness. That everything is at least ten years old (ie from my former, richer life) is a source of glee to me. I have done PTA bakesale in Betty Jackson and lent Jooj a pair of Ferragamos to wear in a school play. They're just clothes. Be fabulous and without shame! When someone says they like my dress/suit/handbag I dont say "Thank you, it was 300", I say "Thank you, its at least ten years old". They then can marvel at my thriftiness in 'doing vintage' rather than my extravagance at buying the bastard things in the first place! s x PS the stinky clothes/cellar thing sounds grim. May the boys help you sort it, pronto!

My comment if anyone talks about my name brand stuff is invariably, "I got it as a STEAL!" It makes them wonder if 1) there's a vintage shop involved; 2) you got it on clearance; 3) you bought it at a froufrou place on sale or 4) you're actually an accomplished cat burglar of froufrou places. Voila! Instant aura of mystery!

LA, as far as the laundry is concerned, I can tell you that right now I have a huge pile of blankets and old curtains balanced precariously on an old wicker chest in my basement. If my hot water tank craps out, I'll be in the same situation that you were this weekend. I think we all have those piles! And girlfriend?...You're gorgeous!

Most of my name brand stuff comes from Goodwill. As for restaurants, if you're in the mood for Mexican, I hear that Maya Cafe is very good, and not far from the movie theater.

Somehow the thought of YOU being drab or unfashionable never crosses my mind. In my head, you are always sporting a pashmina that is gloriously accompanied by the perfect outfit...not to mention your nails and lips are perfect too.

And you are?
