Tell me all about it, dear...

Over 40 and never had a bug... but I did have a mustang!

I never had one, but my little sister had a bright orange convertible bug -- she wrecked it about 6 months after she got it!

No bug for this girl, Chevy Nova all the way! I have a need, a need for speed! My best friend in HS had one, which cured my desire for ever having one! She was ecstatic when she bought her new Datsun B-210!

OH! And I like to use exclamation points! Because! It makes me HAPPY!

About the need to blow off steam? I completely understand. I wish I could do so, but I won't unless pressed. I think I will leave the rest of this comment on my own pages. Hugs!

Heh! Friday night Nancy said she wanted to go to a movie -- specifically, she wanted to see Easy A -- so off we went. To the 9:15 show because the earlier showing would be filled with students from her school. Yeah, it was a bit uneven but still was fun with some decent lines. Ah, VW Beetles... I think you've seen the photo on my home page... my 1957 Beetle that had originally had been some sort of bronze or light brown but which I had repainted with flat black spray enamel.

I grew up in a family of VW's. Two 66 Bugs, 67 Fastback, 68 Bug w/ semi Auto Transmission, a 68 Bus, 73 Bus AUTO MATIC w/ A/C and finally a 81 Rabbit...whew ! I broke the mold and at 16 years old bought a 1970 Ford LTD that actually had enough power to get out of it's own way and a comfy ride to boot. I still miss those old Beetles though because they were a breeze to rebuild the engine and so simple to work on. Mom and Dad are now Buick and Ford owners and it just isn't the same. I miss the smell of a new VW from the 60's - it was very distinctive in a good way and by god they always started and ran forever. Downside was the heater took forever to warm the car even in Arizona Winters and were so damn hot in the Summer unless they had A/C which pretty much sucked down any power the car had in the first place. Still, good memories. The VW Buses we had were mainly to transport our family of 7 back and forth to Michigan from Arizona every Summer vacation and they served us well at a top speed of 73 MPH. Took 3 days to get there and staying at Holiday Inn's but it was great none the less. LOL

I didn't have a car back in the day but I did get a ride in a red VW owned by a friend at school...Loved it. and I managed to get my own VW fix years later when I was the proud owner of a silver bug (which now is driven by my DIL) and a creamy yellow convertible which I sadly sold last year...
