Tell me all about it, dear...

Olives! they are fucking HORRIBLE. I've tried - God knows I've TRIED - but they're just vile. I think one SHOULD like them though, if one is truly grown up, (like espresso and jazz and whisky and getting naked) so I guess that means you and I arent actually properly grown up yet. (Im secretly relieved!). s x

See, I hated olives back in the day, but now I like them. I don't LOVE them the way my kids do, but I do enjoy them in food. They give what I'm eating a lovely little kick. That said, I abhor canned olives. They're not even real olives. It's like saying Wonder bread is just as tasty as artisanal bread baked in a clay oven. But then I don't like watermelon, so there's that.

I adore olives. When I walk past an olive bar I almost swoon. My idea of perfection is when I can get both black AND green olives on my pizza! And dear, LA, your randomness is what I most love about you. Stay random. Focus is over-rated. Trust me. I speak from experience.

I find that I lose my cravings for all things that are not good for you BUT let me have one taste and I am sitting up at the table ready to feast on all those carbs once again.....

I love older Stephen King but stop reading him a little while ago. I thought it was just me, but his stories seemed less enriching. Less tale and more slash and burn. I am so sorry that he has lost touch with his inner child (or maybe it is the inner, petulant child that is pumping out the stories now). Oh, I like all kinds of olives...except the ones stuffed with anchovies, yech.

I, on the other hand, seem to craving the Cheetos and chips lately, but ate cream cheese and olive sandwiches when I was a kid!

I totally agree with about Stephen King. Not olives and cheese, though.

You hit it right on the nail about S.K.. His writing is way too ugly for me now.

Well except for the sushi and black olives, I pretty much would eat everything you listed and then some. I have Stephen King's Under the Dome on my ipod and am listening to it on lengthy drives. I loved Dumas Key, was that written before or after the accident? I don't remember.

I've been saying the same thing about King for years. I loved his early classics but after a point it seemed I just couldn't read the new stuff anymore. I didn't tie it to the accident, but you may be onto something there. I read "From a Buick 8" a few years back thinking it might be something like Christine. Well, it was nothing like Christine. The back story was as you said, joyless, and the King twist was, well, by the end it was just idiotic. It was like he was seeing how much crap we would actually buy. It was supposed to be shocking, maybe, but I was just laughing at the absurdity of what he was describing. Like "Here people, you want more crazy King, here it is!" It was as if he was laughing at us for buying his book. But you have to remember The Stand or The Shining, the book my DH and I started dating over, and maybe cut him some slack.
