Tell me all about it, dear...

Oh yeah, I'm with you on how mean women can be. I know this firsthand. As to the rummage sale, I agree with you on that too.. There's always leftovers from a sale, so you have to donate anyway. It's why I love freecycle.. list something and it's gone in a day. No muss, no fuss.

I have often said, boys will have a knockdown drag out fight and come out of it best buds but a woman who fights with you will hate you till the day she dies. And yes, freecycle is the way to go. list it, dump it at the end of the drive and first com e first served. Never had to wait more than a day for pick up. Most areas have a branch, you should look them up.

I'd need an extra large dumpster to get rid of all the excess stuff around here.

I have to agree re: garage sales, I never do well with them whether I am the seller or the purchaser....I just don't like to dig through the stuff. And nice that Mick acknowledged that he missed you.....hope he remembers that sound of silence the next time he is trying to take control....

I got my bestest thing ever at a garage sale - my Great Pyrennes named Pete. He was my best friend for eleven years.

I have vowed never to have enough stuff to even merit having a garage sale again. I will give away, donate, throw away before I ever do that again. If it's furniture, an appliance or some other larger or more valuable thing in good condition I will Craigs list it. People come quick and with cash if you put a picture in. I saw a woman who would not pay $15 for a beautiful wood glider chair with a perfect seat pad and no scratches unless my neighbor would take her check so she ended up selling it to her for $10 cash. The last time I had a garage sale the Suburbans and Tahoes came early and bought everything up, all for a haggled lower price and their vehicles were already stuffed with stuff I knew they were going to take to the flea market the next day and sell for twice the price. You feel used because people are making a buck, or 50, off you instead of really wanting or needing what you have. I guess if they are willing to haul it and resell it, I shouldn't care, but they must do OK as it now costs $30 for the flea market space rental. I have better ways to spend two days.

so right about the battle of the sexes. I have had the same experiences in business, and socialization. I found my female professors to be big egotistical pains in the ass, for the most part. And don't even get me started on female design clients. I love how men can stay on track with work, not take everything as a personal attack, are not as moody, and they have fun humor to boot. Of course, I am single and don't let a man 50 ft near my person, and that seems to keep me out of trouble with them. :)
