Tell me all about it, dear...

Its cos there's not enough women about. Funnily enough, on TV, you never see great crowds of women hurling stones at other great crowds of women who are dressed slightly differently. We're not big on invading, either, as far as I can work out. First thing we do when we meet someone from another culture is not generally "she looks different - I must crush her immediately", its more "I wonder what they eat over there and if she'll give me some recipes". Women - united by cake. And footie, it appears! s x

Well, I've been told that it stems from conflict within ourselves, which leads to conflict in the family, which leads to conflict in the community, etc, etc. If we collectively work toward inner peace, that will foster the wisdom to create peaceful famillies, and then peaceful communities, etc, etc. I think your experience shows us that it's not as hard as we think it is. It's in our nature to want peace, we just have a lot of trouble maintaining it.

I think many people want to be RIGHT and have control over others. Some are more forceful about it and cause conflict and push buttons. I do think that women make better leaders. Most of us don't want our children to go to war so I think women would work harder to keep the peace and find compromise.

Greed, along with the ability to lie with a straight face and fool most of the people all of the time. Or maybe that's just the republicans....

I agree about the men leading the parade. If women ruled things might be bit different. But maybe, power corrupts regardless of gender....

Beats the hell out of me.

Sorry Doug, but I think that to ascribe evil motives to one particular political party is being part of the problem rather than part of the solution. Personally, I would ascribe "Greed, along with the ability to lie with a straight face" to substantial percentages of both Democrats and Republicans -- and believe that the percentages are increased for those who hold office, again for members of both parties. As for gender-based distinctions and those who believe that women would run a lovely, gentle, and peaceful world, remember those lines from Rudyard Kipling about the importance of saving one bullet for yourself: "When you're wounded and left on Afghanistan's plains,/And the women come out to cut up what remains,/Jest roll to your rifle and blow out your brains"

It's because if we really had no conflicts, then those souls who are here to experience that stuff wouldn't be able to do so, therefore, what would be the point of even having a world as a playground?

It's very important to remember that all of this is illusion, simply a game that we create for ourselves, and we are all just running around gathering experiences. It is frustrating for older souls who are ready to just work on their inner selves to have to go through war, famine, pestilence etc. time and again, but hey, the younger souls have to have the experience too. Besides, we might just have a totally new experience based around war.

Rev Rosie will now step down from her pulpit.

i'm with Jim on this one. It's true that the *most* likely way to be attacked by a woman is to threaten her family, but I've seen far too many random attacks from women to think that we have a monopoly on virtue. (However, in most cases Kipling is not to be trusted as an authority on women. Even the beautiful "Harp Song o the Dan Women" is mostly *about* men.
