Tell me all about it, dear...

D'you know, I'm coming to the conclusion that actually, America is not really habitable. If it's not snow piled six feet high for months on end, it's temperatures the Sahara would be proud of. Your description of Wolf and the Axe made me laugh. Over here the brand is Lynx. Terrible. I can remember catching an early evening train into the city one Saturday. It was full of boys and honestly, you needed a gas mask to survive the overwhelming vile chemical stench. Big hugs xxx

It seems the axe craze is a long one... so often the product of the moment is just that, momentary. The reputation of the axe stink is notorious and I send my condonlences for it's arrival at you home. Perhaps you could use some on the dog to even things out a bit.
Don't even get me going on the humidity, I wilted watering the flowers-sigh.

hah hah! My son is also a user of the AXE, though, thankfully in moderation. I still have to fight to get him in the shower and want to be clean. ugh.

If you haven't tried feliway for the cats, I would look into it. You can try the plug-ins or the collars (both odorless to humans). It contains calming pheromones, so they're less likely to freak out and be naughty. It's worked wonders for my house. I only wish they made similar collars for humans.

Anna is right, it IS Lynx over here - pretty much every boy who comes sniffing around the house for a glimpse of Jooj (and there's LOTS of em!) stinks of the stuff. And SO many varieties, too. If your ad campaigns are the same as ours, the message seems to be "a squirt of this will get you a hot chick". Ergo, fifty bazillion squirts of this will get you LOADS of hot chicks. Just a simple question of mathematics as far as these boys are concerned. DUH. s x

My two scents (hee) we bought a house we affectionately referred to as "cat pee house". We ripped out the carpets and primed the floors but the stink lingered in the heat ducts and corners of the rooms. The magical solution was a product called 123 odor free. Took care of the smell really quick. I ordered online. Oh, and I can't wait for the Axe thing to be over, I swear that was what the waiter was wearing the other night. Gagged me.

You have my sympathies.....any chance you can dilute the AXE bottle with water? I don't think males have a good sense of smell anyway so to them; it probably doesn't smell so strong that your eyes water and you get a chemical high when he enters the room...or the house for that matter...

I hear you on the swampy bathrooms. Fans help a bit.

Oh yes, we have been AXED!!!! for a few years now. No amount of pleadings to only give himself one or two brief spritzes in HIS room, not out in the public areas went unheeded for the first couple of years. he would apply, re-apply and sometimes he would put some on just before he took a shower!?!?! We could see, feel and smell it wafting downstairs each time. It's gotten better this year. I actually like the one he uses now, the Brown one "Dark Passion" or something (We call it Chocolate) especially now that it isn't in layers on his entire body. It will get better, eventually, but you could explain that it's not cheap and won't magically re-appear if he uses a whole can of spray in a week or less.

I appreciate that G takes the trouble to employ, as he puts it, "stinky stuff" for me. Fortunately he's old enough to know you use sparingly. And thank goodness that despite the heat, we're not experiencing the humidity that's adding to your woes. (Well, that and the cat pee. Our dog definitely doesn't deal with cats at all - nor even other dogs - inside his territory)
