Tell me all about it, dear...

Aww... my DH once brought home a kitten he found outside...in our suburban neighborhood. I told him it might belong to someone and got out and made him put it back outside promising if it was still out the next time he could keep it. We never saw it again. A year or so later he "rescued" a cat that he found around an apartment complex where the owner was going to abandon it as he was moving so he brought her home. She wasn't feral but she was half wild and who knows who she had been eating as she had the worst breath and sour stomach until we got her on a regular cat food diet. We had her for 16 years though and she was a lively addition to our family.

The worst thing about already having 8 cats here is that I don't get to have anymore kittens! I've been making do with puppy breath, which is nice but a KITTEN! You lucky, lucky duck!

As I was reading, before I got to the pictures you posted I had already pulled up that mental image of the bulldog with the kitten...I always loved how the baby could knead the poor dog half to death and he'd just grimace through it.

Also, hooray for a feral cat finding a good home, most of my cats are feral rescue, from finding the kittens before they turn too wild to be tamed. Can't wait to see pics!

Kitty kitty kitty!!! I bet the big cat (probably the mama?) is a Maine Coon derivative -- long hair, right colors. I'm glad Mick rescued the wee Rascal.

Rascal is a great name for a cat! My grandparents owned and operated a small dairy farm on the Eastern Shore when I was a kid (they owned it right up until they died, four and seven years ago, respectively, but they stopped operating it back in the late 80s or early 90s and the land was rented out to other farmers). Because it was a dairy farm, there were lots of rodents. And because there were lots of rodents, there were lots of cats. Like, probably two dozen. Some of them would scatter if you approached them, the older ones were just like "WTF ever, I'll bite your arm off if you try to pet me." Anyway, there were three kittens that were all pure white with gray splotches of different sizes on their foreheads. One of them let me pick him (her, for all I know, as I never checked her gender) up, and I think my grandfather said, "Ah, he's a rascal, that one" and the name stuck. I miss that cat! He's probably been dead for fifteen years.
