Tell me all about it, dear...

"I Think We're Alone Now" by Tommy James & the Shondells - my first crush in 4th grade.

You simply MUST post a photo of the Mad mag guy dressed as a lumberjack! I must see that or my life will not be complete! I am a music person too. My whole life is one big jukebox.

Good idea about buying the second pair. I usually wait too long and forget that they hardly ever remake the style of jeans, shoes bathrobes, that I really like until my current cache is threadbare or have holes etc. I am a scent person. I like music well enough and sing quite enthusiastically when I know the words, but a whiff of the Choke Cherry blossoms had my head on a little springtime trip today. It always surprises me and because is is not an ostentatious bloom , I don't connect the scent with the tree for a few seconds and then the breeze turns around to me and .. ahhhh!

What a coincidence! Just yesterday, I had a conversation with a couple of co-workers about how powerfully evocative music can be.

Oh you must hoard running shoes. For some reason athletic shoe manufacturers still haven't figured out that we runners don't want changes every year, we want our comfy shoes year after year, the same. In my house growing up (and still with my family, everything is a song cue.) My Darling is amazed at how my family has a song for every occasion. Some of the songs go back to the 20's as my Grandmothers home was the same and my Dad still sings those songs as can I to my Darlings embarrassment. My first marriage ruined the smell of Lilacs for me. I'm not giving up on my childhood favorite. We are planting Lilacs to make them part of my new and improveds life.

"Born to run" - hmm that was always the one that summed me up (okay now it is more born to hobble but hey! sh*t happens) - today actually was more of a "Mellow Yellow" day until the time I needed to make some phone calls - then "Born to be wild" kicked in!

I mostly remember songs from my late teen and early marriage years. I just don't turn on much music these days.... Yeah, get more of those shoes...you know they won't be available next season. Glad to hear that GFW is doing much better....

I don't think it comes as a surprise to anyone that I am a "music" person, I can find a song to match any mood, subject or phrase that comes up in conversation, and I am often caught singing a verse of some song during conversations. I think it drives people crazy, but I really don't care.
I can remember words to songs that I haven't heard since I was a teenager, which is truly amazing given how freaking old I am, and the consequences of being a child of the 70's.

We were literally NEVER permitted to listen to the radio when I was growing up. I never heard the Beatles except for a brief snippet when they were on Sullivan (we were on our way to church so couldn't get more than "I wanna hold your..." The real irony is that I grew up to work about twenty years ON the radio, heh! So you can't excuse your companion's preference to silence by his family's lack of musicdom. It is a personal preference.
