Tell me all about it, dear...

Well, P&P&Z was fun, but I do prefer the unvarnished Jane Austen. I have a copy of all of her published works on my bed, to be read whenever I wish to escape into the land of entails and men with 5000 a year and Regency morals...or lack thereof.

Then of course, if my eyes get tired of reading, I have the movie/BBC versions of P&P, Mansfield Park and Emma; then two versions each of S&S and Persuasion, to keep me company...though I completely loath the most recent version of Persuasion. The actress who plays Anne is awful.

Don't bother with S&S&Sea Monsters, Meg read it and by all reports I've heard, it's awful.

Oh, and you can go to www.pemberley.com for the complete text of all of JA's writings, so you don't have to pay for the pleasure of more Jane.

P.S. I've always wondered...is it the Cat Skills or the Cats Kill mountains? After all, there's Fish Kill, and Wall Kill...OK, I'll go back to sleep now. (Oh, and I know "kill" means "creek", but I prefer to imagine sneaky little kitties creeping up on unsuspecting humans in the middle of the night, pretending to be loving and cuddly, only to have nefarious plans to obliterate said humans for not providing a yummy enough repast.)

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies sounds like fun. I'll be interested in hearing your opinion of it. I have to say that, as a young woman, I absolutely loved Little Women, the Bronte sisters and Jane Austen. Reading their books was a wonderful form of escape for me, which is why I love books so much. As for Jodi Piccoult - I agree with you 100 percent. Not my cup of tea at all. I recently read two books that I really liked - The Book Thief, and The 19th Wife. I can't wait to retire so I can read morning, noon and night!
