Tell me all about it, dear...

I bought a set of pots like that at JC Penney (on clearance) for Rebecca and her boyfriend for Christmas, and boy did I want a set for myself. I'm glad you got them, and wish you happy cooking! As for "that mall," I don't love it, either. I'm looking forward to seeing Burton's Alice in Wonderland, but dread the 3-D glasses. They made me feel nauseated and headachey when I had to wear them for Avatar...

Oh, that's wonderful! Congratulations on the new tools; good cookware is a treasure indeed.

Oh, good. You can figure out uses for a Dutch oven and brief me! I think there is a big cast-iron Dutch oven purchase in my near future. (New kitchen => *five* solid-surface burners, but only a small "combi" combination microwave/grill/convection oven. This may actually be why they're called "Dutch" ovens.)

Sounds like a terrific day. One year I asked for pots and pans for Christmas and my perfume and silky things buying husband tried to tellme they weren't "gift-like" enough. Nonsense I said. I work at home as well as run the household and do 99% of the cooking so matching shiny new pans are what I dream of right now. He gave in, but it was hard for him. Now he knows when all I want is something from Home Depot he might as well just go with this flow. I have never missed the Chuck E Cheese or adventureland noisy, hectic headache inducing birthday venues since our last one years ago, just the age that went with them maybe. Last night youngest went with oldest to a concert (this was his birthday gift from oldest) and was still smiling when he got up this morning with memories of being in the middle of the mosh pit with the crowd surfing lead singer. It was too much for oldest who mostly stood on the fringe trying to avoid getting battered. Youngest was in heaven and I'm just glad I didn't have to go!

Alice in Wonderland and LA In Her Kitchen...all is right with the world today. I, also, got a new pan today...just happened to walk into a kitchen store while husband was looking for some adjustable shoes next door and spied a medium size, reasonable priced iron skillet which husband insisted on buying for me. Now I have to find recipes to use in it.....Yea for us!

It's pretty funny, I was just delivering a small lecture to one of the Elephant hunters who was using a metal fork in one of my T-Fal pans the other day. I told him about the T-Fal pan my mom still has, which she purchased at the San Diego County Fair in 1976. T-Fal ROCKS! I hope your new pans were of similar manufacture!

About 14 years ago I took Jeremy (my youngest) to one of those kid indoor playground places. He was just short of eleven at the time and I remember thinking that he would soon loose interest in that kind of activity. (I think that my actually have been the last time we went there.) Now he is about two months short of being 25. About those pots & pans: what a great score! Three cheers for Mick for being perceptive enough to insist on getting them. Happy cooking!
