I used to laugh too about the people who would buy a week's worth of food the day before a storm. No one was ever snowed in more than a day, so why buy so much? Didn't matter to me then, bad weather was good for business!

Here in NC, when there's the HINT of flurries, people buy the following: milk, bread, eggs and bottled water. I figured, they're all going to make French toast, and use the bottled water to clean up afterwards. Oh, and they do NOT know how to drive when the roads are anything but dry and clear.
