Tell me all about it, dear...

Fantastic!! OOh, I may have to find me a dance class. Brilliant that the gym eased your shoulder. You are a star, my darling xxxxx

Glad you found a way to get that knot undone and got some relief. I, too, don't like to feel unsuccessful when I do something but avoiding the learning of new skills isn't a good idea either. We all need new things to keep our minds alert and our lives interesting. Good luck with the tango, I love that dance..especially on the dancing programs....

Like you, I was also reading at age 3. By the time I got to first grade, I was reading at a 6th grade level. I don't remember learning, either. It just was always there...

I always read way above grade level, too. I swear, books and music have saved my life during the especially dark times.

Oh, I'm so glad to hear that you made it to both tango and the gym with your shoulder. Adam is the same way about getting frustrated when he's not automatically fantastic at every single physical activity he tries, and he's had the exact same problem with dance.

I can remember when it happened. Sitting in my grandfather's lap with a beat up Reader's Digest. Best gift he ever gave me.

Yes, same here... I must have been reading for quite a while when I suddenly realized that I was reading. I knew that "reading" was one of those things they would teach us in school and was surprised when I realized that what I was doing when I looked at words on a page and knew what they meant was actually reading. (That made actually going to school a bit of a let-down.) However, to make up my early reading ability, I am a terrible dancer at anything more complex than the Twist.

I read before I went to school too. Not as early as age 3, but I fondly remember telling my kindergarten teacher how to spell "banana." Then again, I also took my mother's underpants to kindergarten for Show & Tell. I guess it's all relative, eh?

I also get those cramps in my shoulder blades. It feels like somebody stabbing me with a knife. I was able to read before school (no such thing as kindergarten back in the stone age, we started at first). Being an only child until I was ten, my mother would read to me for hours. I remember her teaching me to read, but I don't know what age I was. I would get so bored in school when the other kids had to read aloud.

Perhaps you could start up a whole new thing. You remember Dancasize? Well you could take it up a notch. Combine gym and tango? I'm not saying it'll be easy, but I'd bet it'll be interesting!

And you are?
