For the dog, have you considered putting a heating pad out there on the cold nights? At least Princess would be comfy. As to you, Princess, I wish only a heating pad would help. Hang in there!!

Perhaps it's never safe and it never changes but that's why we have to find within ourselves the value to be deserving, the strength to walk away even knowing that we may be walking away from everything we'll ever get and the love to know that what we've got inside will always be enough. And if you haven't got that all sorted out inside, know that you will always have my love.

My wish for you is that you let yourself believe again....hope this cycle of doom leaves for a different climate and you feel more trustful once more.

It seems that everyone has the latest, thanks out of town relatives, bug that surfaced during the great bug exchange called holiday season'09. The Mistress is squeeking and Magrit has a large entity sitting on her chest.... I hope everyone gets back to good health asap and the world becomes a bit more friendly a place to sit. Call if you need anything!

That really doesn't sound good at all. I hope you're not saying what I'm reading into it. Regarding people spreading their germs, I was at the store yesterday and a dad let his snotty, hacking kid open up the sample case, cough wildly into it, and then reach in to grab something without using the tongs. Ugh. Later, that same dad cut me off in the parking lot. I hope he gets the bug next. And I will always remember the day I was working in the school office. A little boy came up crying at 9. We took his temp, it was 103. We called his mom. She took her sweet time getting there, and told us that she knew he had a fever, but she had so much to do, and it was only a half day, so she hoped he would be okay. I bet the back of her coat is still smoking from the evil stares directed at her as she walked away.

While we're complaining about the plague spreaders could we also have a shout out to those wonderful employers who say "I don't care how sick you are if you want to keep your job you better be at work". No truly, friend of mine spent 3 hours making coffee when she had food poisoning till we could get someone in to cover her! OK rant over! Hope you guys all get over the crud really fast. And you and Princess get over the heartsick too! Hugs Bels

It sounds like Princess is your angel. Your mirror. Just as you are teaching her, she is teaching you. Blessings on seeing the grace of God in the wisest of beasts and the least likely places.

I'm glad you and Princess have each other. I've found that the only comfort I can always count on comes from dogs.

What Mary said - getting nervous here too. (And felling like crap physically never helps, either.) Could you maybe arrange a *second* crate (or any small space) for Princess indoors? Not take away the old one - I think losing a safe spot would damage her trust more - but add a small enclosed space within the warm house? Maybe put it just barely inside a door so it feels like she still has a retreat.

You see? It'll be that virus that turns you into the superhero. Hang on... I'm getting something through the mystic ether. The green lantern? No. The Not Queen? No. But tantalisingly close.

And you are?
