Tell me all about it, dear...

Ulta is a new one on me. I get my Bare Minerals from Sephora. Finding the right color can be tricky - Medium beige seems to work best for me. And I hear you about the "warm." I have to be careful to use a very light touch when applying that, and I find that using the mineral veil last helps tone down the bronzer.

Oh sweetie, you are one of us now. And you were always good at makeup; I never was, but I love this stuff. Yes, the warm can be too much; I mix it with a light foundation color. As to that: you may not be the color you would expect to be. The best thing is to go into a Sephora (or Ulta, I don't know that one), or the actual BE store at Garden State Plaza, just inside the mall from Nordstrom, and have one of the folk there tell you what will be your best foundation color. Having just had my hair colored, I'm actually going tomorrow to see if a different foundation color is in order. As for everything else, you need to work your way into it. I use a different brush for foundation because I need more coverage. (I am completely addicted to the brushes.) Anyway, that's a lot from me, so have fun and keep at it!

I wasn't impressed because when I looked closely, it looked like the powders settled into the fine lines on my face and actually made them more noticable. To me, anyway. Also, anyone trying to get rid of the dark circles under my eyes (as the Bare Minerals lady did) is doomed to disappointment. I think they're just part of my bone structure. I've had them all my life, it has nothing to do with how much sleep I've gotten, and the only thing that minimizes them is an over-lit photograph. Putting concealer on just makes them look bruised.

I use makeup, but I hate it. Any color I put on this rosacea of mine turns me into the color of clay that Demi Moore was swirling around in that movie "Ghost".

I LOVE my bare minerals! I use the bare minerals and the mineral veil. Nothing else. My skin has never been smoother and more evenly colored. Maybe you need a bit more dark pigment in your bare minerals? Check at the local Bare Essentials store to see if they can suggest some color.

i had to use the warmth in very sparing amounts where i would normally use blush. also the light foundation made me look like a dead person, according to my son. if i try again, i will go to sephora and get the right color. it did nothing for my undereye circles, so i had to still use my PF magic cube under my eyes. i got the eye shadow powder in my eyes and had allergic-looking eyes all day. so that was a big no-go too. love the brushes though!

I found this entry hilarious! I have been wondering about Bare Minerals but now it sounds too complicated for me!

I've tried some Bare Mineral products...not patient enough to stick with it though. I guess I will continue to go the cheaper route with Almay, Revlon or Cover Girl or whatever else is on sale.....

And you are?
