Oh boy, can I relate to the latching onto stupid stuff, the blustering and nitpicking, and doing everything that can be done to deflect things away from the subject at hand. I just went through that because a certain someone left the lights in the family room blazing for three damn days in a damn row because he didn't want the damn DOGS to be left in the dark (never mind that it was day-time). When I pointed out that this was a terrible waste of electricity, the idiocy that ensued made me want to stick a lightbulb you know where. I did manage to restrain myself. This time. Heh.

the fights Man and I would have never solved anything. I learned that early on... we went around and around and around until neither of us could rememeber how the thing started. After a while, I could catch those fights early on and just get up and walk out. Hard for one person to fight... and much easier for me not to hear the low blow!

You are a very wise woman, indeed. I often use the phrase "choose your battles"...in fact my son and DIL use the same expression now. I say it isn't worth arguing over the little stuff when there is big stuff coming. I think we all once thought the fairy tale about living happily ever after was truth! and we are celebrating our 43rd wedding anniversary today so I guess we figured out something over those many years.
