It's a rough few years, as you already know! Good luck! And... I have never had a male mammographer - I wonder if they even exist?

If my 10.5 y.o. is any indication the teenage snark comes and goes. I fear it will move in for a long run of misery sometime soon though. My sympathies if this is your time for the aliens to replace your child with an unsavory replica. Now, the butt camera thing, as chaos said, isn't so bad as far as the procedure goes, it is the prep that can be a bit nasty.

Well, I know one tech who is a registered mammographer... he works in CT, and he's a strange one.
So they are out there.
And I would think that it's safe to assume that they're strange, based on the one that I know.
But there are male gynecologists, and they're not all strange, so maybe there are some male mammographers who aren't.
And, O'yeah, before there was even a registry for mammographers, I was doing mammography with a xeromammography system. Yeah, old timer here. I did probably three patients a week, the lady that I shared time with was also working some evenings and wasn't there for all of the appointments.
Good luck with the teenage phenom... I well remember both being a teenage and having to put up with one... neither fun times.

As has already been pointed out above, the colonoscopy itself isn't so bad - it's the prep the day before that's the killer. Ugh. I'm way overdue for a mammo myself, and really should act on that... Miss you!

My newly 15 y/0 used more hair prouducts than I do.
p.s. When you need to know this for man/boy Wolf, the Pro-Active stuff really does work.

Blessings to you...oh Mother of a pre-teen! It only goes downhill from here. LOL!!
Yep, prep for colonscopy is a nasty one but thankfully you do get to sleep through the procedure the next day. Be sure YOU pay attention to the results as Mick will never remember anything they tell him after he wakes up...believe me. I have been having colonscopics since I was 35 since my father had colon cancer and it is hereditary. Not fun...no way - no how.

Don't you mean .. *shudder* .. AGAIN!

Yes, tell Mick the colonoscopy really is nothing at all. As Stephanie noted, the jello and broth and clear liquids diet the day before and an evening of laxatives... not exactly wonderful but not really all that terrible either. And I remember nothing about the colonoscopy itself -- lying on the gurney and being told something about anesthetic and then being wheeled down a hall and I thought I was being taken to the room where the procedure was going to be done but instead I was being taken to the waiting room where my wife was waiting for me. The whole thing had been done and I remebered absolutely zero. And he'll feel a lot better knowing that everything is okay and he won't need to check again for five to ten years.
