Tell me all about it, dear...

Ooooh! Clan of the Cave Bear! The first three were great. The last book was all about them walking over frozen hillocks to go to a meeting. Sounds like what my life was like when I lived in Minnesota.

What a coincidence. Just yesterday I was thinking about Clan of the Cave Bear, and how sucky the movie was. Another coincidence - I ordered the new Stephen King this morning!

I've been thinking about picking up the Clan of the Cavebear series again, too. Now you've got me wondering how much of the Southern Appalachian tone has crept into my Northwesterner. I'm glad your birthday was so great!

I checked out the books you mentioned on Amazon, I love that look inside this book feature. I might try one or both. I am way behind the curve in contemporary, or any reading really. I can't seem to find anything I like. I go to the library or bookstore and stare at the thousands of books having not a clue what I am in the mood for. I bring several home and then find maybe one I can actually get through. I need to make more time for it. I currently love Isla Dewar for her portrayals of women in a state of change, but I can only order her as she is not in the library or local bookstores. There's something about the Scot in her I like listening to. And the corned beef on rye sounds good too. East Coast type delis have not made it to suburban Denver yet, I'd have to go into town for that::shudder:::, but a Rueben would do me some good right now I think.

Ever since I read the Clan OF The Cave Bear series I have used the word "tundra" profusely every winter!

Read the Clan of the Cave Bear back in high school. How I loved that series. I read a Stephen King book last summer...one about the cell phone. I see a new one is being advertised now. I have a stack of books that I am taking on our cruise....hmmmm. high cost to find a quiet place to read but I like it.

I liked Needful Things for a good King Castle Rock yarn. And the second "Clan" book was my favorite.

How funny - I was just thinking of the Clan of the Cave Bear series the other day. Instead, I getting ready to start a new purchase: We Tell Ourselves Stories in Order to Live: Collected Nonfiction by Joan Didion. Schoolhouse Rock? Love it! Especially Conjunction Junction and Lolly, Lolly Get Your Adverbs Here.

I've been trying to fit reading back into my life. Now I don't even have a commute to get it ddon in. It's bad when I'm two King books behind. I wish the new Clan would come out though. I haven't heard a thing and I think its going to be about her daughter.

OK, this is really weird. Last weekend I was looking at my bookshelves and I spied my Cave Bear books (I think I have three) and I thought to myself, "Am I ever going to read those books again - maybe I should donate them to the thrift shop".
Well, maybe I'll assume the position and read them again. heeheehee
