I must admit , my practical mind thought that Bhutto didn't have much of a chance, but she tried. She came back again and again trying to make a difference. I should have known that a group that would be proud to train their own children as suicide bombers would see that spark of hope and the beauty of a promise of peace as a threat . At this point I have no idea what the plan is over there. Annihilate everything until what?, there is nothing left? I do agree on the scientific method. We know someone who believes man walked with dinosaurs because, as everyone knows, there is no way the Earth is old enough otherwise and it would really screw up his Bible stories. Carbon dating be damned. The worst of religion, the crusades have never really ended, they just changed names. So yeah, pecan bars, you're still baking? I am so over the Christmas goodies, too much, too much.

I have to sadly agree that the world doings are getting so scary now. I think the END is coming, sooner than any of us anticipated. Hug your loved ones, spend time with them and maybe we all can still have some hope....
and if all else fails, keep trying for the perfect chocolate recipes...

Hey there! I just thought I'd say hi and introduce myself. I'm Ms. Rosietoes' daughter The Rat Queen (aka M.Rose in her diary). She kept telling me about the wonderful and fantastic LA. I just had to come and read you for myself. Like Mum, I've been reading a bit back in your entries to bring myself up to speed. re bhutto - a coworker who grew up in iran told me that she was a very corrupt official. i don't know if its true, just thought i'd throw that out there
as for the new normal...i don't buy it. i think the new normal is to *report* every scrap of bad and crazy that happens. i truly believe that there are more good things done than bad, but all we hear is the bad. therefor, the only part of the paper i read is the comics ;)
