Tell me all about it, dear...

I can't say just why, but I can relate to that post so, so, SO much.

Today I sat and cried reading about Sadako Sasaki the atomic bomb victim who tried to fold 1000 paper cranes. Crunchy outside. Soft gooey middle.

"But mostly I think cynics are people like me, disillusioned romantics." I couldn't agree more.

As a Black, Japanese, Mexican pro-choice woman, it's a wonder I admit loving this flawed country - but I do. And while you may do it at Mets games, but I cry at Dodger and Lakers games. God bless America, indeed. We need it.

re: america, I'm sure the old couple on the dance floor had their share of failings too. We all do. Isn't that (according to my gushy romantic side, which I admit is keyed mostly to the bittersweet) what makes things worth loving? Maybe "Love it or leave it" is conservative and "love it and stick to it through the bad times trying to make it work" is liberal. Which puts in a whole different perspective which I'm not sure I like. I cried at a flag raising last year for the first time. Unfortunately, I'm not a weeper, I just turn sort of pinkish and gaspy. I think weeping is probably better than people confusing patriotism with an asthma attack.

I cry at anything even remotely sappy. Sit down by me and we'll weep together.

And you are?
