Tell me all about it, dear...

"How bad is it that Alberto Gonzalez, a guy who said the Bushies were above the Geneva Convention and torture was just fine and dandy, is considered too liberal to be an effective jurist?" What?? WHAT?!? Oh dear God. Alberto Gonzalez and that exceptionally disturbing memo he wrote is about as close to incarnated evil as I've ever found example of. *sigh*

Along with that, it might be a better bet to rent where you live. Then if big business decides it wants the property you live on, all you need to do is find another place to rent. I agree, the whole mess is stinkin' disgusting.

Right on, girl! And they are also using our own moral consciences against us by spinning it into our failure or weakness, when all people who are not politicians just want the same things: decent home, childeren who are fed, clothed, and healthy and who go to school, reasonable salary for reasonable work. It don't matter if you're red or blue. I'll be on a government rant tomorrow myself. This was a good one today.

Aren't we being cruel to the chimps of the world by equating them with a parasite like Bush? Hell, it's even an insult to parasites to make such comparisons! At least *they* have the excuse of not knowing any better...

I told my Nader-voting roommate that there might not _be_ another election so she'd better make it good. Bush is a delusional child. If you give someone with no grounding in reality and a wierd twisted religion that believes that that demons feed on our body heat if we walk too near a gay person - well, this is what happens. (that article is fantastic, by the way) I really don't think there's a precedent in the US for this kind of bizarre fundamentalist fanaticism. There sure are a lot of guys like this sprinkled throughout history, though - the Latin American caudillos, for one.

*"if you give someone with no grounding in reality et cetera _power_ this is what happened. I have gotta start proof-reading. And finding a way around the run-on sentances.

Had an interesting conversation with a conservative Texan uncle-in-law this weekend. Him: "E. [his younger daughter] keeps sending me these books to try to change my mind on politics. But she's too late. I've already changed my mind. She's won." Me: "What changed your mind?" Him: "Bush" I love watching Shrub alienate his power base.
