Fine. No sympathy. How 'bout a (((hug))) though? Just 'cause. Not a sympathetichug, just a hug. IT'S JUST A HUG!! I SWEAR! Heh. Love you, LA.

I know you weren't trolling for sympathy, and this isn't what this is. I'm just struck by the fact that almost every time I read what you write, I think "wow, that's a strong, intelligent, admirable woman." I'd like to be more like her in X way. I learn something from you, LA, all the time. Thanks.

Echoing Jess, because I'm an unimaginative twit at present and can't come up with anything good on my own.

No he was in his mid forties. No sympathy from me, just a lot of love and hugs.

However bad this sounds, I don't mean it bad. I'm pretty thankful you're willing to write this because then I can pull my head out of my ass a little while and see that I'll probably have the luxury of at least getting to where I'll feel alright and you're totally in the unknown. I can't say the fibromyalgia is any comparison.

If I had another cell phone, I'd break that one, too. Not in sympathy, per your request. Just to vent, too. I don't like your MS either. I don't like what it does to you. In fact, I'd like to kick its ass.

U of C researchers find new promise
for oral therapy for multiple sclerosis
May 31, 2004
Dr. Luanne Metz, an associate professor of neurosciences and physician-scientist in the Neuroscience Research Group at the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Medicine, has found that minocycline, a drug currently used to treat such conditions as acne, decreases the activity of lesions in the brains of people suffering from multiple sclerosis (MS). The results of her study are published in the May edition of the Annals of Neurology.l
If you have a good doctor your should be able to get it off label.

I am having one of "those times" also - diagnosed seven years ago, at age 25, this is not something I ever expected, but a friend thought your blog sounded much like what I'm dealing with. We just took our two daughters to the children's zoo last Saturday, and it was my clinging to my husband and lack of ability to make it from one place to another that made us start considering a chair for use at places like this... I'm afraid that I do have one of those aluminum canes folded in my purse, and I started carrying it last summer.
I was a "teacher" before we moved here, and I'm just finding that I am teaching now in ways I never predicted, as I'm paired with a chronic, unpredictable neuroligic disorder. We have an ice cream place nearby, with over 100 types of hand-mixed shakes. Explaining that MS is like that helps - the size and type vary tremendously when it comes to symptoms, and though I might wish I had a mini vanilla, I might by stuck with a large mocha fudge, and I'm going to live with it. But this isn't sympathy, but empathy - know that you are not alone, and we'll all hope for a "cure" together.
(I'm not a blogger or frequent reader-of-blogs, so I don't plan to drop in often, but know that you are not alone)
