Tell me all about it, dear...

i had C's ears pierced when she was 8 months old and still missing much hair.
she barely squawked at all, and barbaric old me carries no guilt, except for perhaps setting the tone for the rest of her life. How was I to know she would continue on the piercing path with a quest to become a human sprinkler? gauges, spears, holes everuhwhichwhereidon'twanttoknowifican'tseethemwithhereclotheson.

I'm pretty much in the no-snip camp (as regards the little toboggan-hat anyway. I'd have the little spermy-ducts snipped off my man in a heartbeat if he'd allow.) I figure, it must be there for a reason and it's not hurting anything, why mess with success? But the Prince says if we were ever to have a boy-kid he'd want it to be snipped. He's of the crewneck variety himself, and thinks the turtlenecks are creepy-looking and gross. Me, I think they look kind of ruggedly sexy. In pictures, anyway. I've never been up close and personal with one.

Female sex partners of unsnipped males have a much higher rate of cervical cancer. There's no way I would NOT have a male baby of mine snipped. If'n I had kids, I mean.

Pandi - would you snip one of your girls?

Two of my boys are 'snipped' the youngest is not. For me, the religious reasons for having a bris were overwhelming, but after seeing what my boys went through, I couldn't do it again. There's no issue between the boys about the haves and have-nots. They really don't care. As long as it all works. I don't know about barbaric, I just think how lucky we all are that we worry about whether or not to make holes/cuts in/on our kids rather than whether or not they will survive their first year.

Snipping is completely unknown here! Except for jewish people. And I am SO not into that ear piercing thing, so i found your entry pretty interesting! xx

We've been back & forth about getting Spencer's ear pierced ( He wants it so he can be like dad ) He's only gonna be 6 in a couple of weeks, He seems so young for that, especially being a boy. So we are gonna wait for a while yet, His sister got her ears done just about a month ago (She's 2 and a half) The only thing I was worried about is if they'd heal or get infected... They are perfect !!! My son is circumcised I wouldn't have it any other way it's all our family knows...
