Good things. Lilacs. Bushels and bushels and bushels of the most perfumy lilacs ever. I picked some for the house today and am delighted by how just a few sprigs perfume a whole room. A spotless bathroom. In a combination of trying to get off my rump more and the horrified realization that just because the house is always tidy these days doesn't mean it's clean I got out my arsenal of toxins and went at my bathroom like the White Tornado. Planning to paint. The stoop needs doing badly. My office even worse. Decided Memorial Day weekend is the best shot at it before the weather turns off too hot. The stoop will get a lovely shiny black on the wrought iron railings. The stair's uprights white and the horizontals on the risers will get a fresh coat of green. Should do the front door too as there's a small bubbled patch (oh woe, RUST) but the green floor/porch paint isn't the right stuff for the metal door and feh, it can wait until fall. I'm still deciding whether to do my office yellow again or change it up for something new. Problem is the only color that sounds more appealing than yellow is pale rose. Tricky color to get right. Do it wrong and I'd feel like I was sitting inside a stomach all day. Besides, my foul stogies just make yellow walls yellower. I can't imagine how icky the accumulated smoke would look on pale rose. Best thing of all. Tree frog wars! Froggy's gone a' courtin'. Froggy and about 100 of his closest rivals. Shrilling and chirruping and burping at the top of their lungs. Last night Mick said it sounded like the jungle out there and I got him giggling by explaining the racket was the tree frog equivalent of Barry White and this… Go find your honey and get it on. No honey? Get it on anyway.
