My Unkymood Punkymood (Unkymoods)

No Sweat.

It's official, I'm a polar bear. Absolutely amazing how much better I feel now that the weather broke. Drop the temp 30 degrees and suddenly I'm alive again. Mike and I have agreed should we ever move again we are heading North. I will have to find out when NY's mandatory extradition of senior citizens to Florida kicks in. We'll have to make a run for the New Hampshire border before we are willy-nilly bundled off to Boca Raton to die a slow and painful death from the unbearable heat. Compounding the horror of being pot roasted to death would be knowing I've died wearing a horrible aquamarine parachute nylon track suit and that my last view of my beloved husband is of him in garish golf pants held up under his armpits by a white patent leather belt. Ugh. Nope, it's the north country for us. I need to live somewhere with real trees, 8 months of winter, and I can wear all the cable knits and flannel I want to.

Don't mind me, I'm all giddy from an overdose of cool breezes and funnel cake.

Back to the county fair we went tonight. It was 'ride all night for one price' night. A seriously good deal. Of course I can't do rides anymore, but the kids can and they got great value from those hand stamps. Riding fools, my boys. Wolf has become a coaster nut. He can also pilot a bumper car like nobody's business. Watching him zoom around was a little frightening. Deft handling, quick cornering and a dead-on eye for the best impact point, I watched with mounting dread, realizing he's a scant 8 years from a driver's license. When he got off the bumper cars I asked him if Daddy had taught him to drive like that. Wolf clicked his tongue at me and said, "No! I just make the bumper car go." Oh boy.

Accompanying us tonight (as she did on our first trip to the fair) was Alex's friend, Kit. I like Kit. Bouncy and enthusiastic, Kit is up for any sort of adventure. She's also well-spoken and polite. It's a pleasure to add Kit to our doings. Wolf has a major crush on Kit and boldly goes where his brother cannot. Alex's eyes were greener than usual tonight as he watched his little brother hold hands and hug on Kit. See, Kit has a boyfriend. Kit's boyfriend is one of Alex's best friends. Avi doesn't mind that his girlfriend and his good buddy spend so much time together. Avi isn't terribly social and no fan of anything that takes him away from his mixing board and computer. In some ways Avi is grateful to Alex. Along with my boy being a steady collaborator on electronic music projects, Alex takes Kit out for all the goodies he (Avi) has no interest in and patience for. So Avi and Alex make geek music together. Kit and Avi make whoopee. And Alex and Kit laugh a lot, see a lot of movies and try really hard to be honorable people. All three have agreed it's a muddle, but right now it's working. Me? I figure the other shoe will drop sometime before Thanksgiving break.

I mean, two weeks ago Alex stopped working on his grim, rather Wagnerian opus to plot out midi and orchestration for Happy Together by The Turtles.

Imagine me and you, I do. I think about you day and night… Uh huh.

Personally I think Rick Springfield is the artist of choice here. Anybody want to chime in on a chorus of Jesse's Girl?

Poor kid.

Treats and surprises of the pictorial variety coming soon! I think I've almost worked out the camera thing! YAY!

Off to sleep with the windows open. Ahhhhh…~LA

1 Wanna talk about it!
