To Snip or Not Snip? That is a loaded question.

Yay! I got a lot of sleep! Still a little muddled and runny around the edges, but feeling okay. Spent the afternoon with my sweetie. Always nice.

Now, before I forget, I’ll answer some questions.

Yes, that is me in the photo in the previous entry. I’m the one on the left. The sneakers are my favorites and I wear them all the time. Pro-Keds rock.

The signs were recycled. That’s why they were in those big piles. The piles were collection points for the recyclers. I saw the BFI guys making pick-ups after we left the museum.

I refer to myself as a blonde from sheer habit. I stopped bleaching my hair about 4 months ago to see how much grey I had. Except for a ton of foils across the top, my hair is its natural color.

This is going to change. Tomorrow.

Melissa took the picture. I am an imaging dinosaur and do not own a digital camera. We dropped our film off at Sam’s today. Will post more pics when we get ours back.

Keep those cards and letters coming, kids!

I don’t know why I did the divider thing. I’m just going to natter on about stuff nobody asked me about yet, but they might.

Or maybe not.

This issue came up in Trin’s comments and of course I have to put my 2 cents in.

For the record, both my kids are circumcised.

(I can just hear Alex groaning, “Oh, thanks for sharing, Mom.”)

Got both my boys snipped. When I was pregnant with Alex the whole deal about the morality and necessity of circumcision was just starting up. Mike and I discussed it. He was pretty adamant about having our sons clipped. I didn’t have any firm opinion either way. (Though I was leery about the care of an uncircumcised penis. I had no experience with them.) The issue was settled for me when I was still pregnant. We wouldn’t know our baby’s sex until she/he was born. Along with the circumcision discussion we talked about what we’d do if our baby was a girl. I told Mike if we had a daughter I was having her ears pierced immediately.

He freaked. Went on and on about maiming our kid and how barbaric it was to punch holes in a baby’s head just for vanity’s sake. That got my dander up. I volleyed back that circumcision was purely a cosmetic thing, we weren’t Jewish. No bris required. And slicing off the wrapper on our kid’s penis sounded a hell of a lot more painful and barbaric than two tiny holes in the earlobes.

I had him there. So, penis clipping if we had a boy and ear piercing if we had a daughter. What fine parents we are! The kid’s not even born yet and already we were planning on how to add some misery to its life.

By the time Wolf came along public opinion had decided that any gentile parents who had their boys circumcised were horrible meanies and borderline abusers.

Tough noogs.

Our boys would be a matched set. I didn’t want to hear the weirdest sibling rivalry argument ever.

“Ha Ha! Your penis has a hat!”

“Yeah? Well your penis is damaged goods!”

And both of them would whine to me that I loved the other one more because I had (or had not had) foreskin removed.

Like I need this?

So there you are. Why the Sage Boys are crewnecks and not turtlenecks.

A couple pairs of earrings would have been easier. ~LA
